MAK’s cosmetology program offers hands on training from the day you start. At MAK you will be using quality products and tools provided in your starter kit to help practice for real-life settings. Our Instructors will guide you in mastering the basic techniques and skills so you can take your talents to the next level.
Master Cosmetology requires to complete 1500 hours. This can be completed in 11 months (full time) to 18 months (part time) with minimum of 20 hours per week. You will master the skills for:
Haircuts, Hair Color, Ombre/Balayage, Keratin, Up-Do/Special Styles, Make-up, Waxing, Facials, Nail Services, and Salon management.

Licensed Instructor Program
MAK’s instructor program will prepare licensed cosmetologist to teach all the skills of the cosmetology program. There are many exciting career options for a cosmetology instructor. Many choose to become a platform artist or educator, teaching and demonstrating the most up-to-date beauty techniques and styles at trade shows, fashion shows, bridal shows and other venues.
A cosmetology instructor may decide to choose a related field, such as fashion consulting or salon product marketing/sales may be right for them. Another opportunity licensed instructors may take are job placements as examiners for state cosmetology licensing boards. Students becoming instructors will be trained in student supervision, grading, record keeping, lesson planning, and student counseling.
This program requires 750 hours and is offered at a part time (12 months) or full time (7 months) schedule.
MAK’s newest program gives students all the hands-on experience needed to work in the fast-paced barbering world. Using top-of-the-line products and tools from our kit, our instructional staff will help get you from basic skills to Master Barber in no time!
Master Barber requires 1500 hours to complete the course and is offered at our full-time schedule (34 hours per week) that takes as little as 11 months and our part-time schedule (20 hours per week) which takes 18 months. You will master the barbering skills and techniques of: cuts, color, shaves, facial hair care, safety, and even salon management.
New for 2021, MAK will now be offering students who are already licensed Master Barbers the opportunity to become teachers themselves! Students taking the step to become Instructor Master Barbers will have the platform to continue their careers as educators teaching and demonstrating the most up-to-date techniques at schools, trade shows, fashion shows, and more. Instructors have additional opportunities working for an accredited school or even becoming a state board examiner for State Licensing Exams. Students trained in the Instructor program will be trained in student supervision, grading, record keeping, lesson planning, and student counselinginstructional staff will help get you from basic skills to Master Barber in no time!
Master Barber requires 1500 hours to complete the course and is offered at our full-time schedule (34 hours per week) that takes as little as 11 months and our part-time schedule (20 hours per week) which takes 18 months. You will master the barbering skills and techniques of: cuts, color, shaves, facial hair care, safety, and even salon management.
For students that want the most education available, MAK Beauty Institute will now be offering a cross-over program for students that carries them from the Master Cosmetology into the Master Barber program.
With an additional 300 hours, students will be able to master all the skills needed to succeed in both salon environments! In as little as 10 additional weeks, you will be trained and prepared to sit for both State Board Exams
